![]() | Program: Environment - Environment and BusinessMy favourite building is......the new Environment 3 building! It's a great example of what environmental improvements can actually look like. During one of my classes this term, my professor took us around the building and showed us all the unique environmental and energy-efficient features - it's so cool to learn about something in the classroom and then actually see it. The Living Wall also smells really great - like the outdoors.
![]() | Program: Science – PsychologyI think that being a Waterloo student means…...being surrounded by people just like you who are all working towards a certain goal in their life. It’s such a great feeling to constantly meet people different from yourself, who you can learn so many new things from! Most people probably don’t know that Waterloo…...has so many opportunities for you to get help with your classes. | Program: Arts and Business –FrenchMost people probably don't know that Waterloo...…is full of unique, passionate individuals. I’ve often heard that what makes Waterloo so great is its people – and I don’t think anyone who’s ever witnessed life at Waterloo can argue with that. Whether it’s faculty, students, or staff, the people here embody commitment and enthusiasm for what they do.
|
![]() | Program: Science - GeneralOne thing I wish I knew in first year is...How many different clubs existed on campus. I probably still wouldn’t be able to get through them all! I spend most of my free time…Enjoying what the outdoors has to offer through hiking, biking or canoeing or simply reading a book. |
![]() | Program: Science – Earth SciencesI think that being a Waterloo student means…...you are capable of balancing your time very well. All of the programs take a lot of commitment but the majority of students still find the time to volunteer, participate in many of the clubs or be on a sports team. A lot do all three! The students at UW are very well rounded and like to put effort into making their school and their selves the best they can be! Most people probably don't know that Waterloo…has the best orientation week ever! The majority of my friends I met during O-week because there is so many opportunities to meet people. Try to go to all of your events; they are all tons of fun

It's so bright and welcoming! Unfortunately, I haven't had a class there yet.
![]() | Program: Environment – PlanningMy favourite course so far was...…definitely PLAN 210, a second-year studio design course. We built a scale model of the redevelopment of a local neighbourhood and got to redesign and intensify the site. I spent a lot of extra time in the studio working on the project, but the final product turned out to be amazing and I had an awesome time doing it. The most interesting thing that has happened to me on campus is……playing football with 50 other people in my residence in first year during the one and only snow day. You could start by going with only a friend and by the end of your meal your table has grown four times its original size with familiar and new faces. The most interesting thing that has happened to me on campus is…...becoming part of the girls football powderpuff team! The experience of being part of a group of 30 something girls, freezing in minus 15 degree snow for a couple hours in mere sweaters, going over plays to tackle the other teams from other Universities to the ground was actually AMAZING! Who knew I could be so tough? |

Most people probably don’t know that......Waterloo has unique residences like Velocity that welcome bright entrepreneurial students to innovate, create, learn and share some of the next big ideas in a high-tech, and friendly living community. My goal for the future is......become fluent in French (still a long way to go!) while living in Paris |
